School Pictures, Voting, and a Project

This morning, my friend and I took the makeup pictures for Mana's school. There were not many of them. Just Five. Sherry had a light blue background we set up. Sherry took the pictures. They turned out really well. She loaded them up on a disk and brought them to me to change the background on them to match the bright blue that Lifetouch used. Mana's picture day was the day that we were sitting in the hospital waiting room for my Grandmother. Her school director told me that they were going to take their own makeup pictures for the yearbook. They would have to just put them next to the wall and take their picture. Uh, NO! I didn't want my baby's picture in the yearbook like that, so I asked Sherry to take them for them. Thank God she was able to take them the day they wanted them! Now those children's pictures will match the rest of them! THANKS SHERRY FOR DOING THAT FOR ME!

The 1st through 6th graders at Mana's school got to vote in their own election today.
McCain won 76 to Obama 23.

After we finished those pictures, I started on the photography project for my Church's Music Minister. I was able to take a few of the pictures needed. I will work on some more tomorrow. I will hopefully get done with them to give them to him in time for Wednesday night Church. While I was working on those shots, I got to take a few of my own that I liked!

Changes to the blog

I have found a wonderful blog site that tells about how to easily change your background on your blog. I found the link off a friend of mines blog. The problem was that it does not override all my colorful text, so I had to go in one post at a time and change all of the text to a color that would not make you go crazy reading it. So if you read older post, just be prepared for your eyes to go crossed! LOL! No more text in different colors for me!

My earlier attempt in changing my background made me lose all of my friend's blogs. So, if you figure out that your link is missing, sorry. Give me a comment and I will link back to your page!

Praise God & Happy Dancing!!!

One credit card paid off and closed!!! Praise God!
I'm doing a Happy Dance! :)

The plan, Art, & a Photography Project

The plan was to.....
1. Turn in my time sheet at the church.
2. Pay bills.
3. Go grocery shopping.
4. Clean the house.
5. Art Class.

I managed to get all that done except # 4. Clean the house. I did straighten it up so my art kids could start on their projects. I so need an organizer person! I am such a pack rat! My biggest problem is, that being an artist, I can see the potential in any object for an art project. That leads to a overly crammed house! I do not have the space to store such items. I believe that if I could find a person to run the yard sale for me, (I do not like to deal with the people) I would be able to weed out the unimportant things. I have a little bit of OCD in me. I want everything perfect. In it's place. That doesn't work together in a pack rat's world! I get so overwhelmed that I just shut down and get nothing done. When I was little, if I was in a stressed or bad mood, my Mom would tell me to go clean up my room. She knew that the mess was a direct link to my bad attitude. So wonder I am so grumpy!

My art students are doing this really great project. I may do one myself. You use newspaper text as your background and then paint a portrait over it in black and white with some accent colors. I can't wait until they get done and see how they turn out!

No pictures of the day.
Tomorrow, I will be working on a photography project for our Music Minister. You might see the pictures on Sunday! I can't wait to get started!

Forgiveness, God's Masterpiece & Choir

As you know, we had to set our clocks back last night. I am glad we did. I went to sleep really late in the morning. We got up in plenty of time to make it to church. Pastor Steve gave a wonderful message. It hit home hard on a few points with the forgiveness. I have a couple of things I need to get past. I am so glad that I am a work in progress and that God doesn't leave you the way you are!

Mana went to eat with Anggie and Lauryn at McDonald's. I stayed at church to set up for the painting event. Thanks to Debbie, Rebecca and Britney I got finished right on time! I was a lot, not a little, a lot stressed out. I did not see us pulling it all together on time. It seemed like nothing was going right. The gym floors had been done and the fellowship hall smelled horrible. I had not eaten and was a little light headed from that and the fumes. I could not find all the door prizes. I could go on, but I will not. It all turned out fine. Stressing out for nothing! We started 30 minutes late. Everyone had a great time and did wonderful on their pictures and that is what really counts!! Debbie, Millie, Rebecca and Britney stayed and helped me clean up. Anggie came and got Mana and took the girls to Sonic for supper while I went to my Bible study. Then the kids had choir. They got to listen to the songs they are going to sing for the Christmas Musical. I stayed at the Church for nine hours straight today. It made me appreciate the fact that I do not have to work. It also made me admire the ones that work and also come to church on Wednesday nights. I use to be one of those individuals. I am exhausted! How did I ever do that?
MANY THANKS TO ANGGIE WHO KEPT UP WITH MY MANA ALL DAY!

Painting, Barbie Dolls and Preparations

Mana and I stayed up until 12:30 am this morning. Needless to say, we slept in late. Now it is 11:13 pm and I just got Mana in the bed. Bad mommy! It will be hard to get up in the morning!

When Mana woke up, we painted the hot water heater box like a
Barbie doll box. It turned out really cute. Mana has been wanting to paint for a couple of weeks now. I let her paint the inside of the box and I painted the outside and outlined everything in black. While it was drying, I did her makeup and dressed her up like a punk rock Barbie doll.

I tried to get everything together to take for the painting event after church. I have the easels. The brushes counted. I still have a few things to do. I really need to repaint the painting because I haven't painted it since last year. I am a little nervous about it. Since it is so late, I am going to finish posting this and get the rest of the items ready to go for in the morning. That way I will be prepared for running late and already have everything ready to carry out the door!
