Splotched Face, Old Fashioned & Computer Generated

Mana had a splotched face yesterday and a bad hacking cough, runny nose and a headache. She did not have a fever, so we figured it was all allergy/asthma related. The school called today, after her teacher sent her down to the office for having a splotched face. It turns out that fifth disease is going around. They called and told me about it and that it is just a virus. Since she did not have a fever she was not contagious anymore. They would keep an eye on her, but did not send her home. I looked it up on the internet and it said once they get a rash, they have already had it. So....when did she have it?? I do not know! She has not had any fever at all.

This afternoon was our first day back for art!!! So excited. We studied typography. They seemed to like the projects. Mana finished her thank you notes so she did a typography project also. I have to say I rather enjoyed the project myself. You can do your own Word Art at this site. You can plug in your blog url and it will generate one for you. Happy Creating!!

Sleep, Wii & a Pageant

This morning, we got up really late! I must get my sleeping pattern back on schedule. We have rushed every morning to get to school since Thanksgiving! We went to bed last night at midnight. I was trying to get Mana to finish her thank you notes and time slipped away. Needless to say, we did not make it to church this morning.

After we managed to get up and got dressed for the day, we went to my friend Sherry's house. We played Wii with the kids. This was my first time to play on the Wii system. It was fun. It was not stress relieving at all. I was extremely tense after playing.

I helped Sherry set her photography studio back up. After we got done, I took Mana's pictures. She is going to be in her school pageant in February. She needed a Photogenic photo to enter. I think we got some good ones. What do you think? Which one is your favorite?

Homemade

Today, Mana is making homemade thank you notes. She is writing the note on the back of the card and making cutout flowers on the other side. Then she is glue stamping and glittering them. They look really cute. She is enjoying making them.

I'll Pray You Out!!

A while back, Anggie moved out of this area because of some maintenance problems at her apartments. She has been wanting to move back, since she goes to church here and her daughter goes to school here also. There is a rental house across the street. It was occupied at the time. I knew my neighbors, not well, and I didn't think they would be going anywhere anytime soon. I prayed that something great would happen to them. Like find a house. That way Anggie could move in! I know, it was just an idea! Guess What!!!! I noticed during the holidays that their cars were not there a lot. Figured it was that they were visiting relatives. After school got back in, their cars were still not there. I mentioned this to Mana and she said that Monday the girl that lived there came up to her at school and told her they moved! I never saw a moving truck. Must have moved while we were in Nashville. Anyway, found out they found a house!!!! My other neighbor's dad owns the house. I asked for their number and we called them last night. She is going to see it on Thursday. I so hope she likes it and wants to move in. It has always been a dream of mine to live next door to one of my best friends and our daughters be great friends also. How much fun that would be!!!! Pray she likes it and gets to move in!!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell? Thank you God for this answered prayer!!!!!

Friday, January 9

Yesterday, I cleaned up the house. Got a lot done. Not as much as I would have liked. Small steps so I will not get overwhelmed and quit. Mana's birthday is in a couple of weeks and I have to be finished by then!

Anggie and Lauryn came over to scrapbook last night. It has been awhile. We actually did some pages. It was strange getting started. I almost didn't know where to start from. We figured it out! Poor Miss Lauryn had a headache, so the girls didn't get a chance to play much. Those lovely seasonal allergies. They will mess you up. Lauryn went to sleep on the couch watching tv so Mana ended up playing on the computer. I was proud of her. She didn't get to upset about it. She took it well and left Lauryn to sleep.

Wait

A friend of mine posted this on her blog and I loved it, so I am posting it for my friends here! So often we all feel this way, no matter the situation we are in. Waiting is the hardest part.

Wait: God's encouragement for uncertain times
By Russell Kelfer

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied,
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate...
And the Master so gently said, "Wait."
"Wait? you say wait?" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked, and I'm claiming your word.
"My future and all to which I relate
Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to wait?
I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign,
Or even a 'no' to which I can resign.
"You promised, dear Lord, that if we believe,
We need but ask, and we shall receive.
And Lord I've been asking; and this is my cry;
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply."
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate,
As my Master replied again, "Wait."
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut,
And grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting for what?"
He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine...
and He tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.
"I could give all you seek and pleased you would be.
You'd have what you want, but you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of my love for each saint.
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint.
"You'd not learn to see through clouds of despair.
You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there.
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence are all you can see.
"You'd never experience the fullness of love
When the peace of My spirit descends like a dove.
You would know that I give, and I save, for a start,
But you'd now know the depth of the beat of My heart.
"The glow of my comfort late into the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight.
The depth that' beyond getting just what you ask
From an infinite God who makes what you have last.
"You'd never know, should your pain quickly feel,
What it means that My grace is sufficient for thee.
Yes, your dearest dreams overnight would come true,
But, oh the loss, if you missed what I'm doing in you.
"So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to truly know me.
And thought oft My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still...Wait."
