Wii Party!!

January 23

Mana had her birthday party on Saturday. We had a packed out house as usual. She got a Wii system for her present from mom and dad. Lots of other Wii games and things from everyone else. We all had a great time playing the Wii. The kids all made themselves a Mii cupcake. Their cupcakes were all very creative. Mana even made clothes for hers out of fruit rollups. We looked back on the history for the day on the Wii and it said we played a total of 12 hours and 13 minutes. That is a long time. My sister and nieces spent the night with us.

Making Cupcakes

Friday, Jan. 22

Friday, after I picked up Mana from school, we went to WalMart and bought groceries to make her cake. She decided that she wanted cupcakes so everyone could make themselves a Mii. After we finished cleaning up the rest of the house, we started on the cupcakes. She did everything except brake the eggs! She had so much fun doing it all by herself. I had to help her ice them all because it was getting late and we made 5o of them.

Anniversary

January 16

January 16th was a great, but busy day. Mana went in to audition for "The Sound of Music" around 11:30 that morning. It went well. She got a callback for the next day! She was really excited. That night, after my husband got home from work, he brought me some beautiful roses for our Anniversary. We have been married for 17 years. We took Mana to her Grandparents and we went out to eat at Logan's Roadhouse. I got an expensive steak. I usually do not do that. It was really good. Then Brian and I went to the movie theater. The next show I wanted to see was an hour and forty minutes later. I decided I would rather rent a movie then wait that long. Mana's GranMary helped her get ready for her callback. She had to learn a song and a page script. When we went to pick her up the next day, she knew it all. Thanks GranMary for helping her out on that!!

The Anniversary Roses

Sound of Music

Lamana will be auditioning for "The Sound of Music" on Saturday!! This is her grandmother's favorite musical, so we really are hoping she makes it in!! Yesterday, I took Mana outside to take her picture for her headshot. I took the backdrop outside and used natural lighting. I think it turned out well. Here are the ones we had to choose from. All my friends picked picture B so that is the one we went with.

Christmas Day

This Christmas day was a little different for our family. My hubby's grandmother passed on December 22. With all that comes with a death, his mom needed a new location for the family get together. We went to his brother's house. We all pitched in and brought food. It was really nice. My favorite, of course, was Aunt M's turtles!! Delicious!! They are the best!! We played Wii games. That made Mana want one for her birthday! She has decided that she wants a Wii party now!

Paw Paw is a very creative person. He wrote a replacement newspaper article to read before he gave the kids some alien space craft fliers.

We always open one present a piece on Christmas eve. We baked cookies for Santa this year and Mana decorated them. Then she made the reindeer food.

Mana went to school two days this week. She was sick on Wednesday, so she went Tuesday and Friday. Lots of make up work. They closed the schools for snow on Thursday and it never came down. Just a few flurries.

My Mother's Angel

This little angel was on my Mother's Christmas tree ever since I could remember. She is very special to me. My mom died of cancer six months before my daughter was born. Now the angel is the last thing to go on my Christmas tree every year.

My friend Jamie is taking on a 365 days of photography project. She was the inspiration for me to do so also. I have already posted day 1 and 2, even though the pictures were taken before those days.
