Trust and Obey

Deuteronomy 4:29 - 31
29 "But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul. 30 When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and obey him. 31 For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by oath."

Today as I was shopping for my niece's and Grandmother's birthdays at Books-A-Million. I was approached by a man that asked if I knew of any women's bible studies he could get for his wife! I happened to have just picked up the "Captivating" daily journal and was standing right in front of the book (which was out of place!). Wow, I thought and handed the book to him. He said thanks and I told him that I was in the bible study now. Then I went on my way to look at other things. A little later he comes up to me again and asked if there was a workbook. I told him there was one, showed it to him and asked if he wanted the one I was holding. It was the only one they had. He said no and I told him that the Family Christian store was across the street if he wanted to look there for it. He did end up buying the book. It is amazing to me that when you trust and obey God He will constantly show you that He is there and working all around you. I am overjoyed that I obeyed and went to the Bible study and that He is still right there with me every step of the way!

On the way home this song was in my mind:

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
